1. Course acceptance
1.1 Are PDHTech.com’s courses accepted by my State Board? Most state boards do not pre-approve or certify online PDH providers. Please check the listing of states in which PDHTech.com’s courses are acceptable.
1.2 Whose responsibility is it to check whether these courses are acceptable? In most states it is the engineer’s responsibility to determine if any material is acceptable. The requirement is usually that the continuing education activity will meet the standards of a State professional board. This is the main reason why PDHTech.com encourages you to review the course content before paying for any course. Usually a course must be designed to build skills and knowledge in your field of practice. Many states require a few PDH hours to be in the area of ethics. Please check your state’s specific requirements for license renewal.
1.3 May I review the course materials before actually paying for the course? Yes! We want you to verify that the course materials will fulfill your state requirements. Feel free to download, print, view, and read the content of any of our courses. Once you are satisfied with the materials, you may proceed to pay for the course and take an online quiz. The online quiz may also be printed out for your convenience.
1.4 What if one of PDHTech.com’s courses is not approved by my Board? PDHTech.com will refund your money if any course fails to be accepted by your State Board provided you send us a copy of the rejection letter.
1.5 What is the number of PDH credits required? The number of PDH credits required by each State Board varies from about 12 PDH per year to about 20 if reported annual and up to twice as much in those states that have biannual reporting requirements. Please verify your state requirements.
1.6 When do I have to submit evidence of my PDH credit? It frequently coincides with each renewal cycle, which varies from state to state. Some states have all engineers renew their license on December 31. Others do it according to the engineer’s birth date or renewal anniversary. Other states do it every other year by anniversary date. Please verify your state requirements.
2. Taking a course
2.1 How do I take a course? Obtain a username and a password Login Review material to ensure that by taking the course you will develop the skills and knowledge in your field of practice as a professional engineer. Make a secure online payment Pass an online quiz (a minimum grade of 70% is required) Print out certificate Access PDHTech.com in the future to obtain copy of certificate or records
2.2 How much time do I have to take the course? You have one year to complete a course after you pay for it.
2.3 What if I don’t pass the course the first time? Would I have to pay again? If you do not pass the quiz, you will have an unlimited number of opportunities to retake it within the one-year window. You do not have to pay for the course again during the one-year window.
3. Author a course
3.1 Can I become a course author? Yes! PDHTech.com is looking for qualified instructors. You must either be a PE or have at least a masters degree in a relevant engineering area. Please contact us with your ideas for courses or to obtain a copy of the guidelines for course preparation.
3.2 How much does is a course instructor paid? PDHTech.com will pay you 30% of the revenues. Upon course approval, we will prepare the course to be posted online and promoted. We take care of the overhead expenses.
4. Pricing and payments
4.1 What is the price of the courses? Most courses at PDHTech.com are between $18 and $30 per PDH credit. Please check PDHTech.com for special promotions.
4.2 How do I pay for courses? You buy your courses using our convenient Paypal secure payment service. Remember that you may review the content of any of our courses before actually paying for them. We take Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex and Paypal.

5. Appropriateness of course work
5.1 How do I know if a course is relevant? Do you list learning outcomes? You don’t have to rely on the course title alone to determine if a course if relevant to your professional development hours needs. Please check out the course content to ensure that it is pertinent to you as an engineer. You may download and print the course materials. Remember that you don’t have to make a secure online payment until you are ready to take the online quiz.
6. Security
6.1 Are payments secure? Online payments are secure. We will never share or sell information about you.
7. Privacy
7.1 Who do you share my information with? If requested by your State Board, we will provide them with either a digital or hard copy of the courses you have successfully completed. For each course we will list the course title, the number of PDH credits earned, and the date of completion. We provide your credit card information to our secure online payment processing center.
7.2 Do you sell or share my information otherwise? We will not share or sell your information with any third parties except for your State Board as appropriate, or if required by law.
8. Record keeping
8.1 How long do I have to maintain my continuing education records? It varies from state to state. Please check with your state board for your record keeping requirements.
8.2 How long does PDHTech.com keep my records on file? We keep your records for six years after the completion of each course.
8.3 Do I have to send in a copy of my certificate to my State Board? Usually not, but each state has different record keeping and reporting requirements. Please check with your state board.
8.4 I have misplaced my certificates. May I get a copy? Yes. Please login to your account at any time to download copy of your certificate.
8.5 Can I get a copy of my receipt and my records? Yes. You can access your records (including your receipts) online, at any time.
